Abstract (English translation of the original text)
According to the characteristics of the constant pressure valve with a flow rate control function confirmed by the results of performance tests, the following advantages are available when considering the applications to an agricultural irrigation system design.
(1) Because the valve responds to fluctuations in primary pressure and end-user usage amount in a stable manner controlling the occurrence of water hammer caused by a sudden change in water flow, and maintaining a stabilized, constant pressure characteristic, assured pressure and end-user flow amount as well as system simplification are possible.
(2) Based on the addition of the variable constant flow rate characteristic to the constant pressure valve, over-discharge prevention and systematic water distribution are possible, providing supply-driven flow-rate control to an integrated irrigation water supply system. Unlike general pressure reducing valves, this valve maintains a constant flow rate from the point where the flow amount exceeds the set flow amount, not just cutting off the flow. This provides an effective use of water for end-consumers when considering the overall distribution within the range of the set flow rate. In addition, because end-consumers can adjust the pressure and flow rate on the ground, water can be used freely with flexibility.
(3) Because the primary pressure is completely shut off to maintain the constant pressure characteristic even if the usage amount at end-users reaches zero during the night, the low pressure specification can be applied to the terminal design of the pipeline, reducing the pipe material costs.
